Intensive Core French is a literacy-based approach, which means students learn to speak, read, and write in French, in that order—the natural way to learn a language.

Class Instruction Overview
K to Gr. 3: Receive French instruction for 135 minutes per week
Gr. 4 & 5 Pre-intensive French: These are the preparation years for Gr. 6 Intensive Program. Students receive 320 minutes of French instruction.
Gr. 6 Intensive French: Semester 1: 60% learning French skills | Semester 2: 10% French
Gr. 7 to 9 Post-intensive French: Continue development of French as a second language. Students receive 320 minutes of French instruction.
Gr. 10 to 12: Students have an opportunity to obtain an internationally recognized French diploma: The DELF. Learn more about DELF.
